Carson's Spring Performance

Carson had his first Spring Preschool Performance at his school last night. His class of 3-4 year olds sang 3 songs; Read Your Bible, Great Big Wonderful God, and a Counting Song. He waited with his teacher for 45 minutes before his class went on stage to perform. Carson proudly walked down the church aisles as his class was led on stage. He smiled the whole time and didn't have any stage fright. It was truly precious. We are so proud of his performance. Next month, he'll be moving to the 4 year old classroom where he'll spend the next year. Then, off to kindergarten...ahhhhh! Hope you enjoy.

Practice for on Stage Performance

So for the past few weeks, Carson has been practicing with his class their "on stage" performance coming up next Tuesday night. He's been very hesitant to share with us the songs the class has been practicing...until a few nights ago. He got brave enough to put on a show for mommy and daddy. If this preview is anything like the real event, I can't wait to go! Hope you enjoy.

It's a Girl

We had an ultrasound on Thursday and the doctor confirmed that we are having a girl. Carson is very excited to have a baby sister and wants to pet "our" baby in mommy's tummy all the time. We'll see how long that lasts once she's here! I am 18 weeks pregnant and feeling well. I'm tired and breathless - our horse trail walks are really leaving me panting for oxygen, but I keep on truckin'. The doctor said the baby's heart looked great in terms of structure and electrical rhythm. It was a great relief to see all 4 chambers of the heart functioning and not one single irregular beat. In 5 weeks, I'll go to Carson's heart doctor for a fetal echocardiogram (isn't it amazing they can even do such a thing) to view the heart in a more mature state. So far so good, and we are very thankful for that. We appreciate all the support we've had from families and friends - thank you.

Easter Time

We had a fantastic "Spring Break" this year. Sean got extremely sick, but still managed to coach his baseball team through a 4 day tournament, plus 2 additional games. Beth avoided jury duty after serving all day. We went baby furniture shopping, the Discovery Science Center, Disneyland, and had Carson's 4th birthday pool party. It was a very busy yet restful break. We are so thankful for the time we had together. Hope you enjoy the plethora of pictures.

Eggstravaganza at Irvine Regional Park

Today we met the Carter Family (Phil, Heather, Ethan, and Ella) at Irvine Regional Park in Orange for some eggciting eggtivities (okay, you get the point). The boys participated in an easter egg hunt, a photo with the easter bunny, a horse trot ride, a train ride, a bounce house ride, and a face painting experience. By noon, we were all tired and ready for lunch. Carson had a really great time and can't wait for the easter bunny to visit his house next weekend!

Fun at Grandma's Lake

Here are some pictures and videos from our visit to "Grandma's Lake". Carson really enjoyed feeding the ducks, geese, and running around the lake by her home in Rancho Santa Margarita.

...and Baby Makes 4

We're having a baby!!!! We are so happy to announce that Beth is 12 weeks pregnant and things appear successful so far. As many of you know, Beth has had 2 miscarriages since July '08 and getting pregnant has not been as easy as one would hope (they began trying in Oct. '07!). We've been very hesitant to say anything, but today Beth had an ultrasound that confirmed all is growing appropriately and healthily. We are excited, nervous, and cautious. So please keep us in your thoughts and prayers that this baby survives and has a healthy heart.

Winter Fun

Here are some pictures from our visit to Mount Baldy, California. It is a local mountain about 40 minutes drive from our house. We'd never been there before in the winter, only in the summer to go hiking. It was super cold, snowing, and really windy. We rode the ski lift up the mountain (which seemed like it took forever) and took Carson to the tubing park. He had a blast and loved the new experience.

1st Time for Everything

Well - it appears that everyone else in the world has a blog, so the Kane Family thought we should try and be hip and trendy and start one too. I love connecting with family and friends through pictures and videos, so hopefully a blog format will make this experience that much greater.
